Susan Inglis, Executive Director of Sustainable Furnishings Council, Recipient of WithIt WOW Education Award

Sustainable Furnishings Council is proud to announce that Susan Inglis has been awarded a 2009 WithIt (Women in the Home Industries Today) WOW award for her achievements in developing programs to educate associates, retailers and consumers about home furnishings. Since the inception of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, Inglis has dedicated her career to educating the home furnishings industry about environmental and social responsibilities, following on a long career educating artisans and other small business owners. "It is a profound and profoundly satisfying honor to be presented with the WithIt WOW Education Award," says Inglis. "I appreciate the attention that this recognition brings to the causes I am so interested in promoting."

Her leading role in the Council has encouraged collaboration and communication between manufacturers, designers, retailers, and consumers to better identify the educational needs for driving sustainable practices in the industry. Her award recognition is well-deserved.
