Membership Requirements

Sustainable Furnishings Council members are required to:

  1. A commitment to sustainability
  2. Transparency about how you are living that commitment
  3. A commitment to continuous improvement

Standards for recognizing Exemplary Membership are specific and significant.

Types of Membership

Standard Members receive:

     

  • a listing & landing page, & link in our searchable database. Traffic to our website is supported by our DESIGNINGreen program and "Why not?" ad campaign, which features celebrities like Kathy Ireland, Angelo Surmelis, Thom Filicia, and others, and is run in trade and consumer magazines with a combined readership of over 5 million.
  • use the membership logo under our SFC Logo Use Guidelines
  • benefit from networking opportunities at SFC meetings and industry events
  • extra support and publicity at trade shows with market directories of our members, our Fabulous Flash Drive Press Kit, and sponsorship opportunities for events
  • LOTS of educational information, inlcuding a flash drive with "Green Furnishings 101"
  • a kit for use in your showroom/store: window decals, table-talkers, brochures
