  • We are planning to take the following actions this year to improve the sustainability of our practices:
Since taking the course last week, we have already begun discussing with our vendors the Lacey Act amendment section that will phase in in April and how we might work together to insure that all wood products meet stated criteria and how that criteria is really defined . (Interestingly the dozen or so furniture vendors we spoke with this week had no knowledge of the 2008 amendment and their obligations and responsibilities under it so this has become an opportunity to share this knowledge with our vendors as well.) We have also begun talking to our clients specifically about the need to be cognizant of sustainable forestry issues as they may make some purchases on their own.
