  • Biodegradable Products Institute

    The Biodegradable Products Institute is a multi-stakeholder association of key individuals and groups from government, industry and academia, which promotes the use and recycling of biodegradable polymeric materials (via composting). The BPI is open to any materials and products that demonstrate that they meet the requirements in ASTM D6400 or D6868, based on testing in an approved laboratory.

    The goal of bluesign standard is to put a reliable and proactive tool at the disposal of the entire textile production chain – from raw material and component suppliers who manufacture e.g. yarns, dyes and additives, to textile manufacturers, to retailer and brand companies, to consumers.

  • CARB (California Air Resources Board) Regulation for Formaldehyde in Composite Wood Products

    The toughest production standard in the world for formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products. The new regulation applies to all panels made for sale or use in California, whether as raw panels or as a component of a downstream consumer product such as a kitchen cabinet, door or piece of furniture.     The U.S. Department of Agriculture has set standards which farmers are required to meet in order to label their agricultural products with the green USDA organic seal. Organic farming focuses on ecologically sound ways to grow food, without the use of synthetic chemicals, hormones, or antibiotics.

    An ecolabel is a labeling system for consumer products to show the environmental impacts of the product. Ecolabels are applied voluntarily and through a third-party for quality assurance. There are many kinds and types of ecolabels. Ecolabelling exists for both food and consumer products.
