  • Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an independent not-for-profit organisation which holds the largest database of corporate climate change information in the world.
The data is obtained from responses to CDP’s annual Information Requests, issued on behalf of institutional investors, purchasing organisations and government bodies. Since its formation in 2000, CDP has become the gold standard for carbon disclosure methodology and process, providing primary climate change data to the global market place.

  • EPA Climate Leaders

Climate Leaders is an EPA industry-government partnership that works with companies to develop comprehensive climate change strategies. Participating companies commit to reduce their impact on the global environment by completing a corporate-wide inventory of their greenhouse gas emissions based on a quality management system, setting aggressive reduction goals, and annually reporting their progress to EPA. Through program participation, companies create a credible record of their accomplishments and receive EPA recognition as corporate environmental leaders.

  • Greenhouse Gas Protocol
The Greenhouse Gas Protocol Initiative is a multi-stakeholder partnership of

businesses, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), governments, and others

convened by the World Resources Institute (WRI), a U.S.-based environmental

NGO, and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), a

Geneva-based coalition of 170 international companies.

accounting and reporting standards for business and to promote their broad adoption.

The GHG Protocol Initiative comprises two separate but linked standards:

GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard (this document, which

provides a step-by-step guide for companies to use in quantifying and reporting their

    GHG emissions)

GHG Protocol Project Quantification Standard (forthcoming; a guide for quantifying reductions from GHG mitigation projects)
