SWIFT - Reduce

Reducing the amount of samples in the system is by far our most difficult task. It is going to require some real discussion, collaboration, and change within these industries. How can we sample without using and dumping so much fabric and without diminishing the intensely tactile and visual selection process?

1. Promote awareness of and participate in conversations with your colleagues regarding the sample waste issue
2. Create samples using digital technology in conjunction with smaller textile samples. Once an item has made it through the initial stage, larger samples are readily available from supplier.
3. Encourage use of digital libraries for initial product search
4. Return the samples back to the supplier so they can be reused.
